NMminer Stuck At 80% - Troubleshooting Guide

NMminer Stuck at 80%? Here’s How to Fix It

If your NMminer is stuck at 80%, don’t panic. This is a very common setup issue and is usually caused by one of a few simple things.

Important: Only change one thing at a time and test it thoroughly. Changing multiple settings at once makes troubleshooting much harder.

If you get lost or things feel messy, the fastest way to reset your progress is to reflash the device. You can find all flashing guides here:

Most Common Causes of “Stuck at 80%”

1. Unacceptable Wallet Address (Most Common — Start Here)

  • Not all Bitcoin wallets are the same. There are several wallet formats and protocols in use today.
  • Exchange wallets (Coinbase, Robinhood, etc.) are very commonly rejected by mining pools.
  • Mining pools can be picky about wallet formats. Some formats are simply not accepted.

Recommended fix:
Generate a paper wallet and keep a printed copy somewhere safe.

Wallets that are known to work can be generated for free here:

2. Mining Pool Rejection

Some mining pools no longer accept very low hash-rate devices like NerdMiners and NMminers.

If changing your wallet does not fix the issue, try switching pools in the setup menu.

Known good pools (as of December 2025):

Public Pool
stratum+tcp://public-pool.io:3333
NerdMiners.org
stratum+tcp://pool.nerdminers.org:3333

3. Reflash the Device

  • If everything above fails, reflashing the device is your best next step.
  • Firmware updates are released periodically, and older flashes can cause connection issues.

Final Notes

Stay calm and work through this step-by-step. These are simple devices, but a single incorrect setting can cause a lot of frustration.
